Nick and I met in 2006 at Cisco College, we quickly became college sweethearts as we completed our bachelors and masters degrees together at Dallas Baptist University. In December of 2010, we got engaged on the snowy mountains in Santa Fe, New Mexico (one of our favorite ski spots). In spring 2011, we moved to Waco, Tx from Dallas to pursue new chapters in life, mainly so I could be close to my family when planning the wedding. I also took the Baylor Cheerleading coaching position. We were neighbors throughout the next few months and lived in guest rooms of my parents’ house, while we searched for our first home. That summer, we purchased our first home together and Nick moved in. We didn't have our first night in our new home until after we were married (dads request ;) ). Before we moved from Dallas, we had visions of a need in Waco for a high quality training center for dance, cheer, baseball, softball and strength to help get area kids to the next level. New business, new home, new city, new opportunities… The transition has not been easy; in fact we have faced a lot of opposition and brick walls. We often questioned our move due to the fact of how much we love DFW. Above all, we have realized now nearly 4 years here that the Lord has placed us exactly where he wants us. We believe we are following the will of God and that is satisfying enough to make it through the more difficult moments (although they are faint compared to the amount of blessings). That’s just life, right? Our marriage and friendship are very strong and there is not a day that goes by that we are not laughing together. Everything was lining up just right for us to start a family…
March 1st 2014
This is the day we prayed for…
We went to eat a Mexican breakfast at one of our favorite Waco spots. After breakfast, Nick said we have to go get a test at the store and see. We quickly drove home and raced to the restroom, yes Nick flew in in front of me. He grabbed the stick from me, as he scurried through the directions on the paper and said YOU’RE PREGNANT! So yes, my husband let me know I was pregnant, such a sweet moment. We immediately put both of our parents on speaker phone and called them so they would find the news out at the same time. They shared so much joy with us! That night we attended a fundraiser with his company, we were beaming with joy!
April 2nd 2014
at 9 weeks... Our first appointment was so memorable. We were able to see the baby’s heart beat and get our first picture of our growing baby. We found out I was a week ahead of what we thought we were at! We had planned for a November 5th due date and by the size of the babies growth, we measured at an October 31st due date!
April 2014
At our Spring banquet for Baylor Spirit, I announced to my team that Nick and I were expecting. I laughed out loud as the girls yelled out All Girl is pregnant!
April & May 2014
The next two appointments were to check my health and hear the baby’s heartbeat. At 12 weeks, the first appointment the heart beat was 160, we thought for sure a girl! So daddy prepared himself to raise a little girl.
Week 13- The big announcement!
15/16 Weeks- The very next appointment the heart beat was 152, ok! Baby is playing tricks on us! We then had no idea!! We asked the doctor if he had any idea and he said yes it’s a boy… or a girl. We laughed!
Baby Bump in Vegas!
19 Weeks Bump.. Growing & Growing! We can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or girl!
June 2014
20 Weeks- June 12 2014, GENDER REVEAL DAY! We made an appointment at Because of You 3d/4d for a private ultrasound. It was the best decision we could have made! We had our parents and Nick’s little brother with us. Our little baby just did NOT sit still; baby has mom & dads energy for sure! We quickly found it…. IT’S A BOY! He is still so small but we were so impressed to see that little angel moving around, poking, kicking and being a little toot. We will definitely be going back after 28 weeks, to get clear pictures of his sweet face.
21 weeks- We visited with a new OB due to BCBS making
some changes with coverage.. Thankfully we had a great experience with our new
doctor, something we had anticipated for a couple of weeks. As I had been
established with my previous OB/GYN since I was 18! It was an emotional couple
of weeks to say the least… Back to the great news! Our baby’s health is doing
great and so is mine! We were able to see his little heart beat and listen to
it, as well as get some more photos. We don’t have another appointment until
July 18th!
Now it’s time to start figuring out the best and most
useful products we need. We are really getting excited about this new chapter
in life. As always, we thank the Lord for these blessings.
24 Weeks-
A lot has changed since my last post! Thankfully all is
great! We received a call from BCBS and they changed our plan to a PPO… which
means…. We are back with our original DR! We could not be more excited! Our apt
went well and baby boys heartbeat was 143. I also received a Whooping cough
vaccination, I had no idea I needed that… Other than that, besides acid reflux
and the normal pregnancy nausea, I am feeling great! We got a call from our Dr
that he wanted us to get our scan again to get his own measurements…
25 weeks & 4 days
So far, we have been overjoyed with the amount of love,
support and excitement we have received. Our parents and sister are already
loading up on newborn outfits, our aunt Crystal purchased our babies first clothes
(baseball and sports themed
) Our Uncle Terry & Aunt Cecelia purchased our dream crib! We received the
crib that has the connecting changing table with drawers and shelves. Thanks to
amazing friends and family, I was able to fill out my baby registry/my
checklist according to everyone’s recommendations for must have items!
Ultrasound day- We were able to see our little baby boy
again and are so happy that he is looking great. He does not sit still and
moves around so much! He weighs 1lb and 12oz. In the next couple of weeks, I
will be going back for my gestational diabetes check. I really pray that my
health continues to be well and most importantly that our baby continues to be
healthy too!
32 WEEKS We want to see our precious boys face!
My mom, Cyndi, Erica, Javier and Jacob came to the 4D ultrasound visit, so we could see his sweet face. He moved around so much but thankfully we were able to get this pic below without his little hands on his face. We celebrated a healthy boy after with Smash Burger! It was great!

32-36 week appointments!
Thankfully all of our appointments have been going extremely well! Mom and baby are doing great and are still on schedule for an end of the month delivery! At our 36 week appt, the doc said my cervix is very thin and my body is doing what it needs to do to prepare for labor. We are now at our once a week appointments!
In 3 weeks or LESS... The next time we posted, we will reveal our precious baby boy! We can't wait! Posted on 10/8/14
